Guide
Installation & Updating
How to install, update, and troubleshoot JM Addons on Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
Installation
- Download the .mcaddon from CurseForge.
- Double-click the file to import the addon into Minecraft (close Minecraft first for the best result).
- Create or open a world and head to Behavior Packs in world settings.
- Activate the Behavior Pack. The resource pack is linked automatically.
These steps apply to all JM Addons. Each one ships as a single .mcaddon file that bundles the behavior pack and resource pack together.
Updating
The update process is a bit different depending on whether you're running a Realm or a local/singleplayer world. Follow the steps for your setup below.
Realms
- Open Minecraft.
- Deactivate the BP and RP from your Realm, then click the back button so it saves the change.
- Go to Settings → Storage and remove the old behavior pack and resource pack.
- Close Minecraft completely.
-
Download the new
.mcaddonfile and open it. The pack will auto-install. - Go to Edit World on your Realm's page.
- Verify that the behavior and resource packs show the new version number (use the green check mark to confirm).
- Load into your Realm.
Non-Realm Worlds
- Open Minecraft.
- Go to Settings → Storage and remove the old behavior pack and resource pack.
- Close Minecraft completely.
-
Download the new
.mcaddonfile and open it. The pack will auto-install. - Click the pencil icon on your world to edit it.
- Activate the behavior pack and make sure the resource pack activates too.
- Load into your world.
Always remove the old packs from Settings → Storage before importing the new version. That way Minecraft picks up the updated files and you avoid version conflicts.
Keeping your data
Updates preserve your world data. Scoreboards, tags, dynamic properties, and any in-game state created by the addon stay intact after updating. Removing the old packs from storage only removes the addon files; your world's saved data is untouched.
Troubleshooting
- Addon not appearing in Behavior Packs? Make sure Minecraft was fully closed before importing, then try opening the .mcaddon file again.
- Resource pack not loading? The resource pack is linked to the behavior pack and should activate on its own. If it doesn't, check that it's listed under Active Packs in your world's Resource Packs settings.
- Features not working after an update? Close and reopen the world. Some script-based features need a fresh world load to initialize.
